Dimos-Dimitrios Papanastasiou

Dimos Dimitrios Papanastasiou was born in Athens in 1969 and grew up in a bilingual family. He successfully completed his studies in law in the 9th semester (Erstes Juristisches Staatsexamen) in 1994 at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany.

During his studies he received a scholarship from the German Foundation “Konrad Adenauer Stiftung”.

In Munich he worked in the legal department of vast German companies, as well as in the law office Schmidt-Sibeth, Zirngibl, Langwieser, Heise, and handled cases of multinational companies.

Upon completion of his studies he fulfilled his military obligations in the Air Force, where he was assigned to legal services at the judicial offices in Tripoli and Athens. In the meantime, he was enrolled as a trainee lawyer in Athens Bar Association of Lawyers and began practicing law at the law office of Efstratios Stratigis.

From 1996 until 2002, he worked in the German-speaking law office of Dimitrios Oikonomidis, initially as a trainee lawyer and since 1997, as a lawyer and member of the Athens Bar Association. In 2002 he founded his own law office in Athens (18 Dorileou Street), which retains until today.

Mr. Papanastasiou gives high priority to regular and effective communication with his clients, Greeks and foreigners, individuals and companies. He pays close attention to his clients’ needs by handling cases and defending their interests with professionalism and efficiency. He represents them both judicially and extrajudicially and ensures that they are familiar with Greek conditions, procedures and legal framework in Greece.

In addition to his profession, he is actively involved in the German-speaking community of Athens. For many years he was initially a member and then president of the board of directors of the historical Greek-German Association “Philadelphia“. During his term as president of ‘’Philadelphia’’, the Cultural Center and the apartment building in Paradissos Amarousiou (Kriezi and Monemvassia Street) were founded.

Since 2007 he has participated in the board of Directors of the German-speaking model nursing home “Haus Koroneos“ on Kyriakou and Tsocha street in Athens. He also served as a founding member and President of the Evangelical Association for Humanitarian Relief (Evangelischer Diakonieverein), which has undertaken the management of the nursing home “Haus Koroneos” with thirty-six employees since 2010.

Mr. Papanastasiou also supports the foundation “Agios Nikolaos” in Galaxidi, which offers assistance and family care to persons with mental health disability.
