Many people take advantage of the ability, provided by law to unite in order to achieve a common purpose by establishing sports clubs, associations of parents and guardians, professional associations and chambers of commerce, cultural associations, charitable associations for vulnerable groups. There is almost no aspect of social and economic life that is not covered by the activity of an association.

In these cases, association is a common legal form. Most of the times, an individual take up a position as a member of the Board of Directors (Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.), participates in a Committee or may be assigned as an auditor.

Mr Papanastasiou has extensive experience in union law, as he has served as President of the historical Greek-German Association “Philadelphia” and “Haus Koroneos” nursing home of the Evangelical Humanitarian Relief Association, position that he still occupies.
